Aim of the Role of Maintenance Supervisor:

To assist the Facilities Manager on a day to day basis with high standards of maintenance within the Lygon Arms

Responsibilities of Maintenance Supervisor:

  • To lead and supervise the team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • To manage the day-to-day task lists for the team ensuring completion is to the correct standards.
  • To be confident and take ownership in responding to emergency calls for maintenance from all departments.
  • To be confident in ensuring all priority maintenance jobs are completed.
  • To show teamwork and flexibility in being able to respond to changes in job priorities at short notice.
  • To take ownership of installing, repair and replacing pipes, valves, potable and non-potable water systems, drainage, waste and vents, basins, tubs, faucets, showers, grease traps, lavatories, sinks, traps, urinals, water heaters, dishwashers, back flow devices, water pressure regulators, and other plumbing fixtures and equipment.
  • To be confident in carrying out installation and maintenance work to plumbing, drainage and sanitation installations of all types in domestic and commercial buildings and be fully conversant with all aspects of these systems.
  • To work closely with housekeeping to ensure that all bedrooms are kept to appropriate company standard.
  • To be willing to undertake training of and mentoring of other tasks, e.g. Pool plant maintenance
  • To be on call on a rota basis
  • To work flexibly – the maintenance rota is covered seven days a week 7.30am to 6pm

About you as Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Previous experience as Maintenance Supervisor in a large property is desirable 
  • Experience leading a team of various areas of expertise
  • Plumbing and Electrical Skills desirable
  • Relevant qualifications, up to date H&S compliance
  • Hands on approach to supporting the team
  • Managing external contractors
  • Experience using Knowcross is desirable
  • Knowledge of wet heating and air conditioning units
