Sports Science & Athletic Development  - Cobham, Surrey

DEPARTMENT: Sports Science & Athletic Development 

JOB FUNCTION: Within the U9-U12s teams, the candidate is required to deliver fun and engaging athletic development sessions. They are required to work within our philosophy and ensure players achieve KPI’s at each stage of their development. In addition, they will utilise physical testing data to personalize athletic development programs and contribute to the case study review process. Ultimately, they should ensure players develop a broad movement capacity to enable them to deal with the chaotic movement demands of the sport.  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Plan and deliver Athletic Development sessions in line with our philosophy and framework.
  • Lead on physical testing and reporting to both coaches and players. 
  • Utilise growth and maturation information to support players through accelerated periods of growth. 
  • Provide input into case studies reviews and IAPs.
  • Lead on the recording and reflection upon sessions and programs. 
  • Assist & advise coaching team on daily/weekly training prescription (on-field), considering changes in pitch size between U9 - U12s.
  • Support Medical and Coaches with rehab and RTP process .

Mandatory Qualification: 

  • BSc in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, Physical Education or Equivalent
  • UKSCA Strength and Conditioning Accreditation (Desired) 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION: 

  •  Experience working with young athletes (At least 2 years) 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with young players 
  • Must be able to deliver fun and engaging coaching sessions 
  • Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team
