Job Title: Sports, Health and Inclusion Coordinator 

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time 20 hours per week covering operational hours 

Location: Bisham Abbey Leisure Centre 

Salary: £12.50 per hour

As Sports, Health, and Inclusion Coordinator, you will support the management team in the implementation of a Sport and Community Development Action Plan. You will develop and maintain a network of community partners and stakeholders, including representation at external forums/meetings and developing external funding applications where required

 

You will demonstrate a professional understanding and ability to engage with inactive elements of the local community and impart a passion for healthy lifestyles that will increase participation levels.

 

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Work with the Leisure Centres to identify activities and timeslots which are available, any instructor led sessions which may be possible and to recruit and manage where appropriate coaches for delivery of sessions.
  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholders such as local clubs, CSPs, schools, Community Groups, Local Authority (inc Public Health), Police and other user groups to deliver the Sports and Community Development Plan for the centres.
  • Set performance targets and report outcomes and key milestones to the Management team as required
  • Apply for external funding for the development of sporting/leisure/social activities.
  • Support the Head of Sport & Community Development on both national and local projects where required and attend Serco Leisure Sport and Community Development Forums.
  • Participate in training as appropriate to ensure that all necessary qualifications remain valid and to ensure personal development.
  • Lead on outreach opportunities to raise the local profile of the site and increase utilisation by the local community.
  • Collate and present and monthly performance reports and the attendance on all conference calls and meetings as required.

 

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • As Sports, Health & Inclusion Co-ordinator you will either possess a recognised sports/community development qualification or relevant experience and the willingness to undertake further training and development as necessary an appropriate formal qualification. 
  • Experience within a sport/leisure environment or similar position with responsibility for achieving increased participation outcomes.  
  • Knowledge of the leisure industry, programmes, and products
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation
  • Ability to travel for attending meetings and events
  • Demonstrable experience interacting with the local community, organisations and stakeholders at a range of levels
