Head Chef - Perth, Perth and Kinross
£25,350.00 per annum (pro rata)
Fixed Term Contract until end of June 2024
We are looking to recruit a Head Chef with both excellent food production and leadership skills to join our team catering for the students and staff at Perth UHI. We provide a range of catering and café outlets across the campus offering Grab & Go, Hot Lunch service and branded coffee outlets.
At Perth, Aramark also has a unique partnership agreement with Perth UHI Catering Department to provide experience for Levels 4 / 5 / 6 Professional Cookery students in Brahan Kitchen so an interest and ability to work with trainee chefs is important.
This is a fixed term contract until end of June 2024 and is a Monday – Friday role, there will be 2 weeks off at Christmas and 2 weeks in April 2024. This role requires a flexible approach around hours, and a confident candidate who has experience leading a team with strong time management and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team to ensure that catering is an integral and positive part of the student experience, which necessitates innovation, drive, and focus to meet customer expectations.
- Compliance with Health and Safety, Food Hygiene including management of food allergens and dietary knowledge is integral.
- Understanding of key financial targets such as GP Margin within catering areas.
- Able to interpret Aramark recipes and promote food concept innovations.
- Production and delivery of Hospitality Catering Services
- Able to order food supplies and manage stock levels in accordance with recipes and business levels.
Main skills and experience required:
- Experience within food production, able to produce and present freshly prepared Breakfast and Lunch menus.
- Admin skills for online ordering and associated paperwork.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a busy kitchen.
- Communication skills.
- Car driver preferred.
