Maintenance Assistant - Braemar

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Maintenance team at The Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar, as a Maintenance Assistant working closely with our Property Manager and team.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard. Areas include guest bedrooms, bathrooms, associated areas, as well as staff accommodation.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out maintenance on all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure that they are in safe condition and action is taken when any unsafe situations arise.
  • Carrying out maintenance tasks including joinery, plumbing, electrics, painting and decorating according to the daily task list.
  • Carrying out maintenance of the staff accommodation internally and externally according to the daily task list.
  • Ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Fire & Bomb Policies and Procedures.
  • Performing daily maintenance, fire safety and security checks around the hotel.
  • Supporting the Property Manager by supervising any external contractors on site, as required.
  • Ensuring that good relationships are built and maintained with internal and external customers.
  • Supporting the implementation, and direction of all emergency programmes.
  • Supporting the implementation and management of energy conservation programmes for the property to minimize expenses and reduce environmental impact.

Expectations

Our successful Maintenance Assistant will have:

  • Proven experience in property maintenance or related field, preferably in a similar luxury hospitality environment.
  • Technical knowledge and skill in painting and decorating, joinery, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • A thorough understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH.
  • A willingness to work to the high standards that are demanded from a luxury establishment.
