We are currently recruiting a number of Chefs to join our amazing team working at Albemarle Barracks, Harlow Hill, NE15 0RF

- £13 per hour
- Full time! 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 with variable shift patterns ranging between 7am – 9pm

What you'll be doing
- Prepare and serve food to the highest standard
- Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheets
- Full knowledge of all menu items served
- Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
- Maintenance of food levels throughout all service periods
- Maintenance of food quality and brand standards
- Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements and identify any anomalies and incidents
- Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
- Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklists
- Discussing ideas or improvements with line manager
- Act as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.
- Undertake relevant training as required
- In addition to the above, Chefs may occasionally be required to undertake ad hoc duties in line with business requirements.
Experience
- Friendly and flexible to duties – a real team player!
- NVQ Level 2 Culinary or equivalent is desirable – but previous experience is also considered
- DBS check required
- Own transport desirable due to the remote location of the site
- Food hygiene certificate – Level 2 or the willingness to work towards this via our online elearning
- Previous experience in a kitchen working as a chef or similar
