THE EXCITING OPPORTUNITY

The Municipal Hotel Liverpool MGallery opened in May 2023 and invites all life enjoyers to experience unique stories from the past but also to write the astonishing tales of the future. 178 bedrooms in a remarkable and inspiring landmark of the city. Time is of essence and at the heart of The Municipal’s story.  Its iconic clock tower and bells giving the tempo to a timeless melody.  Various restaurants, bars and a state of the art spa sanctuary including a pool, will offer everyone the place to have the time of their lives.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF DE PARTIE AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL & SPA MGALLERY, LIVERPOOL

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following duties.

  • To run and supervise any kitchen section to the required standards set by the Head Chef / Sous Chef
  • Supervision of the Commis Chefs to ensure all preparation of the designated section is complete and ready for each service
  • Be responsible for the quality and control of stock and prepared foods
  • Execute dishes to the expected high standard quickly, efficiently and consistently
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of designated section

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Chef de Partie you will need the following qualities and skills. 

  • The ability to manage various sections of the kitchen, whilst ensuring health & safety standards are met
  • To be flexible in your approach, and able to assist the Sous Chef and any other members of the kitchen brigade when required 
  • A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department 
  • Someone who is passionate about food and willing to learn 
  • Previous experience in a similar role, at either Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie level.
  • An understanding of the pastry section is highly desirable
  • An understanding of quality control, kitchen standards and adherance to HACCP, a food hygiene qualification is highly desirable but full training will be given.
