What you'll be doing

  • In the absence of the Head Chef, assume responsibility for the overall kitchen operation
  • General production of breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • To maintain food hygiene, service & presentation to a high standard
  • Support the head chef to manage the day to day running of the kitchen, including managing wastage and paperwork
  • Deliver private and official functions
  • Follow recipes and prepare food for service
  • Manage all associated administration tasks
  • Deliver first class food throughout service
  • To share responsibility for the checking, probing, and signing of all food deliveries to ensure that only the highest standard of produce is accepted into the unit.
  • To assist the Head Chef in evaluating the training needs of the kitchen staff.
  • As a member of our team, you are equally responsible for cleaning and hygiene and that any assigned daily and weekly cleaning duties are carried out.

Experience

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Relevant culinary experience operating at a Sous Chef level
  • Third level qualification (HACCP/Culinary Arts/Professional Cookery)
  • A great passion for food and service
  • Flexible approach to hours and duties
  • IT literate, numerate and able to communicate across cross discipline stakeholders
