We are currently recruiting for a Duty Manager to be a part of our integral team at RNLI College, West Quay Road, Poole, BH15 1HZ

What you'll be doing

  • Correct menus, prices, descriptions, Allergens, displayed on time at the right place.
  • Ensure all departments are running efficiently and effectively with good communication between the DM and HOD.
  • To verify all cash up processes at end of each shift in Bar, Restaurant, Functions and Reception and to write down and declare any discrepancies on the cash up sheet. Make sure that all hotel PDQ machines are secure overnight.
  • To count the safe and handle cash on shift, ensure accuracy of transactions, report on all variances accurately and ensure all cash is secured in the safe.
  • Control of stock, Client & Company Assets, ensuring all stock rooms are secure and access given to those that need it.
  • To liaise with customers, client and staff and ensure all business requirements are met to the highest possible standards.
  • To be a point of comment and contact for customers and to ensure all customers are aware of what is available to them.
  • To be a point of reference to staff, ensuring that the customers’ needs always come first, ensuring their Health & Safety and correct business practices are adhered to.
  • To deal with complaints or negative feedback immediately and in a manner such that empowerment diffuses any complaint at the point at which it occurs.
  • Ensure all functions are set up appropriately to business needs and set standards and run timely with high standards.
  • Liaise directly with event organisers and be their point of contact for meet and greet and the duration of their event. Handover with next shift as required
  • Accurate information is communicated effectively i.e. up to date function sheets, handovers, etc.
  • Ensure that staff uniform, including footwear & headgear along with personal hygiene is always of the highest standard, giving the correct discipline if not kept up to standard.
  • To oversee and run the restaurant, bar and functions as required.
  • To ensure all store areas and equipment under your control are clean, tidy and comply with food safety, health and hygiene and are locked and maintained.
  • To ensure adequate stocks of food are maintained, controlled, secured and that stock takes are carried out regularly for both food and drink.
  • To ensure that temperature records are completed daily for each function and recorded accordingly.
  • To ensure that all company bookwork is completed accurately, and any short falls are investigated.
  • To carry out any reasonable management request.
  • To positively promote the company in both general conduct and standards in line with the Service Level Agreement.
  • To be fully conversant with COSHH regulations.
  • To be fully conversant and compliant with company Health and Safety Policy Procedure and company Security Procedures, including Covid 19 regulations & working practises.
  • To be fully conversant and compliant with RNLI Fire and Evacuation Procedures.
  • Assist in stock takes & record Information accurately, passing on the details to the correct Managers.
  • Report & where necessary take action for any incidents of fire, loss, theft, damage, unfit food or other irregularities.
  • Have a very high standard for cleanliness & attention to detail, in all areas of the site (including both back & front of house).
  • To assist in the service of food & beverages in all areas. This includes Restaurant, Bar and Conference and Banqueting.
  • To assist in cleaning duties as required in support of the business requirements.
  • Management of restaurant booking system

Experience

  • Flexible & organised approach to the role
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Supervisory or Management experience
