A Deck officer's job is to be the on board navigation and ship operations expert. This is your chance to kick start your career in the international shipping industry. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for our industry and are keen to have the opportunity to combine industry experience while gaining a Foundation Degree or HND in Nautical Science.

As a deck officer cadet, you'll learn how to navigate by both traditional and modern means, supervise the crew at a variety of tasks, and ensure the overall safe operation of the ship.



Before you apply please make sure you hold the following:


    Four GCSEs or Scottish Certificate of Education equivalence at grade 9-5 (A*to C) including Maths, Science (with significant physical science content) and EnglishCandidates must be UK or EEA citizens and be a resident in the UK for at least one year immediately prior to application and have the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions

Carnival UK is currently going through an exciting time of growth and look forward to welcoming our new Cunard ship, Queen Anne in to the fleet in May 2024. As part of this growth and development we are currently in conversations with our annualised Maritime Deck and Technical fleet to agree future ways of working, including a potential reduction in working days on an annual basis.
