Hours: 40 hours over 5 days, Tuesday - Saturday

Our Logistics Supervisor

Working within the Estate Logistics team, our Logistics Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Estate Logistics function and provide cover for the Assistant Warehouse Manager. Responsibilities will include the smooth day-to-day execution of picking, packing and delivery of orders from Estate departments, goods in checking and system administration, stock counts, manpower planning and all aspects of warehouse operations.

Employing best-practice policies and procedures, the role holder will supervise activities, assign daily tasks, ensure all activities are completed on time and adopt a continuous improvement approach to processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Picking, packing and delivering of orders across the Estate daily
  • Ensure the daily operational plan is executed to the agreed schedule and completed in full
  • Manage the daily allocation of tasks to the team and monitor performance
  • Ensure issues are identified quickly and solutions put in place or, where required, escalation of more serious incidents to the manager
  • Manage detailed goods in checks, capture all relevant information (e.g. best before dates, etc.), update the Sage system and communicate issues to the Buyer. This includes driving improvements in goods in check compliance, issue identification and accurate receipt of products into the warehouse and associated IT systems
  • Ensure order fulfilment levels are communicated to ordering departments prior of delivery
  • Ensure order picking accuracy KPIs are achieved and exceeded
  • Ensure daily stock checks and cycle counts are completed as scheduled and stock variance KPIs delivered
  • Ensure Sage and Datalinx administration activities are completed daily maintaining an accurate stock record. This includes PO receipt, location stock control, wastage reporting and inter-site movements
  • Deliver warehouse hygiene standards to required levels, HACCP completion and relevant health and safety checks all completed and documented daily
  • Work with the Inventory Control team to maintain an accurate stock and location record for all warehouse items
  • Ensure manpower planning including Fourth HR maintenance is completed daily/weekly
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach to warehouse processes to increase productivity and reduce errors
  • Ensure all IT system processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Deputise for the Assistant Warehouse Manager
  • Support the Ecommerce team as required during periods of high workload or absence

What we're looking for

  • 1+ years of proven track record experience in warehouse or operations supervision
  • Proven warehouse IT systems experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Proactive with great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with team members and stakeholders
  • Full driving license to include towing trailers

Optional experience as a bonus factor:

  • Datalinx systems
  • SAGE System
  • Food hygiene certification including allergens
  • FLT certification - Counterbalance, Flexi-truck and pallet stacker/PPT

Where you'll be working - Estate Logistics

Our central service department is an essential function for the estate , supplying services across all areas of the business from our Avalon base. The main functions of the department are.

  • Procurement of goods
  • Receiving and storage of all delivery to the Newt
  • Management of warehouse spaces
  • Processing and fulfilment of internal supply chain and stock movements.
  • Processing and fulfilment of external supply chain and stock movement
